Guest Post Guidelines for Small Business University

We at the Small Business University strongly believe that experience is the best teacher. Call it what you want – school of hard knocks, University of life, or just being street smart – an entrepreneur’s best friend is the experience gained from running a business. Now imagine all that experience raised to the power of gazillion – and you’ve got the Small Business University. It is a place where entrepreneurs learn from each other’s experience. So we obviously love guest posts, especially from entrepreneurs, freelancers and independent consultants. If you would like to write a guest post for us, here are some guidelines.

  • Send all posts in doc format to mtjin@apptivo.com
  • Posts should be less than 600 words in length
  • Attach images separately
  • Your post must be original and must not have been published anywhere else before
  • If your post has been accepted by us you agree not to publish the post anywhere else again for a month from the date of being published. And if and when you do choose to publish it elsewhere we would appreciate a link back to our blog (something saying it was originally published on Small Business University)
  • We will let you know within 48 hours if your post has been accepted by us or not. If it has not been accepted by us you are free to publish it elsewhere.
  • Please take a look at the categories in the left side bar and send us relevant posts only
  • Articles may be edited. Please don’t be offended if we suggest changes, fix grammar, add links etc. However, no major changes will be made without your approval. It’s still your post.
  • You can add up to three links in the post – one in the main blog and two in the byline/author bio that link back to your blog/website

So send us those posts about how you made your small business a success, or what you learnt about online marketing, or the latest trend that may seem all the rage but is not worth a small business owner’s time. Share with us your insights and hear what other entrepreneurs have to say about it. Let’s get that conversation started!
