What’s in This Guide

This guide will provide the training and information required to integrate the Apptivo WordPress plugin with a self-hosted WordPress website.  The guide will cover the basic requirements and installation steps, as well as the details of customizing and utilizing all features of the plugin.  Lastly, this guide will also provide examples of how Apptivo interacts with the self-hosted WordPress plugin.

If you are looking to get online as fast as possible, skip straight ahead to the quick start guide.  This guide will not explain steps in detail, and will provide the bare minimum to get the features configured.

Who Should Read This Guide

The developer guide is meant for developers who wish to use the Apptivo WordPress plugin to extend the functionality of a new or existing WordPress website.

Beginners or individuals with minimal technical knowledge will be capable of performing basic setup and customization, but complex customization will require moderate php, html, and css knowledge.

Users with little to no technical knowledge are encouraged to run an Apptivo manage WordPress package, or seek professional help from a certified Apptivo partner.

What’s Required to Start

1. You need a third-party hosting provider, with the following software installed and configured:
   1. Php5.0 or newer
   2. WordPress 3.0 or newer
   3. SoapClient for php is installed
2. Memcached for php(recommended, not required)
3. URL rewriting enabled on webserver (recommended, not required)
4. You need an existing Apptivo account.
5. You should have a basic understanding of the following Apptivo apps.
